Meet the Team

Lauren and Chase's bond began amidst the pandemic, teaching at a community ceramics studio in Kingston. Their instant connection blossomed into a close friendship over the past three years. They share frequent calls, share moments of uncontrollable laughter together, and effortlessly complement each other's strengths, making them an extraordinary pair beyond words.

  • Lauren hails from Accord, NY, but spent six transformative years on the tiny Caribbean island of Tortola. With a BFA in Ceramics and a teaching degree under her belt, she has immersed herself in the hospitality and restaurant industry. Starting from the bottom, Lauren climbed the ladder by mastering every role before transitioning into management, operations, and consulting roles. She describes the journey as "tough, thankless, messy, and fun," crediting it with teaching her discipline, how to handle criticism, understand people, and juggle responsibilities effortlessly. Lauren has a knack for spreadsheets, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives on interaction with artists and collectors, community engagement, and networking.

Lauren is a whirlwind of passion, empathy, intelligence, goofiness, drive, and kindness, living by the mantra, "Be kinder than is necessary," in every facet of her life. She cherishes time spent outdoors, whether it's gardening, running, swimming, or simply basking in the sun with a glass of Txakolina. She balances life by traveling, dedicating time to her yoga practice, and enjoying moments with friends.

For Lauren, this journey is her dream realized, embodying the belief that dreaming big makes anything possible.

  • Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, he relocated to the Hudson Valley in 2020 with his partner, Sam Reeder. Chase is a studio artist and has maintained his practice in ceramics (amongst other things) and casting for twenty years. He received his BFA in Ceramics at Georgia State University and his MFA in Ceramics from University of Colorado Boulder. He has taught at many universities including New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, Maryland Institute College of Art, Virginia Commonwealth University, and SUNY New Paltz.

When Chase is not looking at, thinking about, or making art, he loves to cook, garden, run, and spend time with his partner and pups and of course, laugh- a lot (the dumber the better). He is very curious- for better or worse- and follows his intuition throughout his creative endeavors. Favorite artists include but not limited to, Cathy Wilkes, Robert Gober, Jim Hodges, Gertraud Möhwald, Peter Schjeldahl, Stephen Sondheim, Flannery O’Connor, Jeanette Winterson, Sandra Bernhard, and Kate Bush…so many more.

Throughout my career, I am most thankful and grateful for the mentors, curators, collectors, and artist friends that believed in me, continue to support my ideas, and are as devoted to me as I am to them. It is with honor and privilege that I am opening a space to show artist’s I love and want to share with our community here in Kingston and beyond.

“Give more than you take.”- Jim Hodges
