Movement Experience with Interactive Sculpture, Lead by Patrice Heber
Event is free with a suggested donation. Funds raised will be donated to the Trauma Foundation
Come into presence with the interactive sculptures of Michael Fortenberry in a guided exploration of movement, play, and sensory connection. Through Patrice Heber’s deep experience in contemplative dance, somatic movement, and mindfulness practices, we will awaken our awareness and engage with the sculptures as living elements in space.
We will open all our senses to feel our connection with the natural materials, the evolving soundscape, and the spontaneous interactions that emerge through movement. Guided movement sequences will blend with opportunities for improvisation, allowing each participant to explore embodiment in relation to the artwork and others in the space.
This session is an invitation to move with curiosity, presence, and joy—a playful and immersive experience where sculpture, sound, and movement come alive in dialogue. No prior movement experience is necessary—just a willingness to explore!
Patrice Heber:
Patrice has been an avid practitioner of dance, somatic movement, bodywork, mindfulness and meditation for over 40 years. Her initial dance training was rooted in ballet and modern but evolved to improvisation and contemplative dance inspired by her mindfulness practices. Studying and performing contemplative dance practice with Barbara Dilley at Naropa University was pivotal in awakening her explorations of body-mind therapies.
She has studied and taught yoga, is a practitioner of Body-Mind Centering and Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement and is a Qigong instructor. She has been a practicing Buddhist for over 40 years. She enjoys bringing people together to feel relaxed, embodied and playful with themselves and in connection to others.
